Canadian-born Cyr-wheel pioneer Valérie Inertie has garnered several of the highest international awards in the field of circus arts with her engaging, innovative artistry. Having brought this new artistic discipline to the forefront of the most renowned acrobatic shows in the world such as Cirque du Soleil, The Bolshoi State Circus, Friedrichstadt Palast and Art on Ice. Since 2005, she has nurtured this living work of art from conception to refinement, creating acrobatic apparatus and choreographic material that is now the roots of her stunning performances. In addition to her Cyr-wheel acts, Inertie works with aerial silks and other custom apparatus such as the Ice-wheel and the Water-wheel. She also fosters the creative expansion of her art by sharing her knowledge through workshops, private classes and artistic consulting.
